Joseph A. Spinali, DMD
He graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1981. Following graduation, he worked in a research lab at Massachusetts General Hospital for two years. Dr. Spinali then attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. After graduating from Tufts in 1987, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency at New England Medical Center, Carney Hospital and the Fernald State School in Waltham, MA. For five years following his residency, he was on staff at the Tufts Dental Facility at the Fernald State School, providing dental care to individuals with developmental disabilities and over-seeing dental students who trained there. At the same time, he began his career in private practice.
Dr. Spinali’s philosophy involves providing the highest quality of dental care with a gentle and compassionate touch. We never lose sight of the fact that there are people connected to the teeth/mouth we are treating and we go out of our way to make sure that everyone who we see is taken care of in a manner that is most appropriate for their personality.
We will listen to you and your concerns, explain and show you what we see, then review any treatment options you may have, and together with you, choose the course of treatment that best fits you. There is no such thing as “one size fits all” when treating our patients.
Dr. Spinali is very active in continuing education and each year takes numerous courses to stay current in many aspects of dentistry.
He is a member of the Spear Study Club group, a local chapter of a prestigious group based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Once a month, the group (which includes multiple specialists and general dentists) meets, discusses and plans how to treat complex dental cases.
He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Middlesex District Dental Society.
Dr. Spinali has been married to his wife, Karen, since 1983. They have three children, Andrew, Nicole and Kaitlyn.
